El Salvador, Monte Verde / Medium Roast Coffee
Roast: Medium Roast
Character: Roasted Nuts, Dark Honey, Citrus
The Contreras family has been farming in Monte Verde since 1915, and since then they have been cultivating varieties of Bourbon and Pacas coffees. The farm consists of five plots and is located in the Department of Santa Ana, Candelaria de la Frontera right along the El Chingo volcano. The combination of the soil and location produces wonderfully developed coffees. This particular washed coffee is a pleasure to drink any time of the day.
We’re very proud to have a direct relationship with the Contreras family and look forward to supporting them and their full-time employees on an ongoing basis.
This is a washed whole bean coffee but a ground option is available.

RELATIONSHIPS
All things being equal, we want to collaborate with people we can have long lasting friendships with. Even though quality is always top of mind, what is equally imporant are the relationships we’ve developed over the years with farmers and green coffee reps.
ROASTING COFFEE
All of our coffee is roasted on our new, state-of-the-art Loring S15. The Loring is the most energy efficient, consistent and quality focused coffee roaster in the market. Our goal is to roast each coffee in order to maximize its natural flavors without imparting any roast characteristics. This makes our coffee rich, sweet and flavorful.
BREWING COFFEE
Brewing coffee is one of the most overlooked processes in the entire chain. Especially at home, most people do not take the time to learn or implement proper brewing techniques. This can lead to poorly extracted coffee and inconsistent flavor. Focus on dosing out a consistent weight of coffee to water and using a proper burr grinder to grind your coffee right before brewing.
