milk chocolate, citrus, caramel

Our Guatemalan coffee comes to us from a beautiful family farm called La Revuelta in the Mesias region. Purchased in 1995 by Christian and Julia Starry, their focus was on growing only specialty grade coffee instead of a variety of different produce on the land. Situated at altitudes between 1450 and 1555m, this Bourbon varietal expresses characteristics of almonds, citrus and creamy milk chocolate.

In 2013 their son Christian Jr. joined the family business along with starting an exporting company called Truth Trading Company. TTC's primary goal is to work with small farmers to help them get fair prices for the coffee they harvest each season with full transparency. Unfortunately many farmers don't know what quality of coffee they have, and in many cases are taken advantage of by unscrupulous exporters/mills in the area. TTC hopes to bring fairness back to an age old business where farmers can be at the mercy of people and companies with a less than honest motives.

We are excited to be purchasing directly from the Starry family and Truth Trading Company for the second year in a row.
